A Joint Symposium Hosted by the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES) and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD)
Yes, the U.S. petroleum industry is ever-evolving. More automation. New technologies. Greater efficiencies. What used to be impossible to extract is routine to produce today. Peak oil? Not in this lifetime. But also changing are the challenges and opportunities we face. Challenges like access to capital and tougher regulations. Opportunities such as pivoting our skills to help grow geothermal output and contribute towards CCUS. Yet, as much as the oil & gas business changes, many constants remain. We constantly bring energy to our nation and the world. We continue to employee millions and contribute mightily to U.S. GDP. We consistently see technically savvy, innovative oil and gas finders exploring and developing to great success. And with that success, M&A activity remains robust. The 2022 Dallas Energy Forum is dedicated to this theme: “For the times they are a-changin’” (but the fossil fuel industry isn’t going anywhere anytime soon).
