About The Event
Abstract:
A series of NW-SE trending near-vertical grabens, or “lineaments”, are present across much of the Western portion of Reeves County, TX within the Delaware Basin. Such lineaments are interpreted to be the pathway for communication that causes an increase in both Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and anomalously high water-oil ratios (WOR’s) in recent Upper WFMP Horizontal wells. However, not all wells completed across lineaments result in high H2S/WOR’s. Therefore, it is pertinent to identify those high-risk lineaments to determine if a well will be economic or not. The purpose of this work is to present a successful case study and workflow that aids in deciding which lineaments are candidates for NPZ’s and how to approach production remediation if needed.
