Job Requirements

  • Experience:

    Experience Requirements:
    Minimum 10 to 15 years experience, including 5 years familiarity with output from geostatic model and/or engineers dynamic model.
    Must possess sufficient experience in construction of 3D geocellular models on Schlumberger's Petrel software and utilize established geoscience data analysis techniques and methodologies to review/validate both geologically realistic reservoir models and upscaled simulation models.
    Field appraisal development planning, subsurface risk and uncertainty evaluations.
    Ability to incorporate subsurface disciplines, including reservoir engineering, geophysics, petrophysics and production technology into a comprehensive interpretation, final report and presentations.
    Geologic mapping experience with a strong understanding of log interpretation and core descriptions.
    International experience is preferred, but not required.
    Occasional International travel required.

  • Skills:

    Accountable for delivering the knowledge and workflows needed for world-class reservoir interpretations including:

    Defining reservoir properties by carrying out detailed measurements in wells, including data acquisition plans.
    Preparing proposals for G&G work for client’s integrated reservoir simulation studies worldwide.
    Coordinating with Geophysicists for interpretation and mapping of 2D/3D seismic data and providing all database information
    Coordination with Petrophysicists in evaluation of well logs and identify cutoffs, GOC/OWC, etc.
    Preparation of geological maps with gross/net/porosity, etc., and evaluation of original reserves by volumetrics
    Preparation of G&G reports and occasional travel abroad to clients offices for presentation of work
    Support team research projects and ensure that geological risks and uncertainties in the subsurface are adequately recognized and addressed
    Occasional international/domestic involvement in exploration projects and new business opportunities.

  • Education Required:

    B.S. in Geology; M.S. preferred.
